A Special Message from Pastor Josh
For our Grace Church Family: I hope you will join us this Sunday for a time of prayer for our new president, our country, and most importantly ourselves. My prayer is that the bitter disappointment of last night or the exuberant excitement of last night will ultimately be stripped away and replaced by a deep abiding recognition of how desperately we need God! If our hope is in anything other than Jesus Christ, it is a false hope.
It may be that what you are feeling today (whether good or bad) is the voice of the Lord calling you to know, trust, and experience His presence more deeply. The deeper the hurt or the greater the joy is simply a representation of our values. For elections to matter so much that we respond in elation or we respond in despondency, demonstrates the depth of our awareness and trust in God’s sovereignty. May we respond to the news of last night with humility and grace. May we make time to share out emotions with our heavenly Father who longs to walk through life with us. May we remember to love each other as Christ has loved us!
4Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice! 5Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon. 6Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
